BOOKING

1. Is it possible that sometimes group lessons are overbooked ?

In the high season we have some difficulties to find out enough ski teachers for children group lessons. That is why we prefer to have classes with about 12 people rather than non professional staff.

2. What to do to avoid overbooking ?

People doing their booking by internet as soon as possible have the priority in comparison with other people booking late or in last minute. CAUTION don't wait to be in St-Luc to book by Internet. System will be closed 3 days before the beginning of the new course !

3.Should I pay at the same time as I book the lessons ?

It is much easier and pleasant to book and to pay from your home. Remember that without payment no booking will be accepted ! Your advantage: no waste of time in waiting queue in our ski school office at St-Luc.

WARM'UP

1. What is the "warm'up"?

In high season we have more than 300 people of different levels in our groups.
To avoid a waste of time on Monday morning, we prefer to offer you this selection on Sunday afternoon. So we can start on time on Monday, the right student being in the right class !

2. Is the "warm'up" necessary ?

In Switzerland, as everyone knows, things who are not forbidden are obligatory ! However "warm'up" was created to spare time. That is why people arriving too late make other students unhappy and cause a waste of time for all. But anyway think about it and decide by yourself...

MEETING PLACE: click to visualize the different places where to go

1. Where is the right meeting place for group lessons ?

Due to our students different ski abilities, we have to dispatch children as following:

Snowli, Snowli+: meeting place in front of our ski school office. However parents are kindly asked to company their children to the snow garden, about 200 m far from the office, thank you.

Novice: meeting place in front of our ski school office

For all other levels: meeting place on top of the funicular mountain station

2. Is it possible in the morning that student goes up to Tignousa with their teacher ?

From Tuesday, parents have the possibility to discuss with their child's teacher and to arrange that. BE CAREFULLY staff is going up early in the morning and if you arrive too late, teachers won't wait for your child...

3. Is it possible to have an other meeting place for private lesson than in front of our office in Tignousa ?

No problem but in any case the count down for the lesson starts when our teacher leaves Tignousa and finishes when he is back.

SKI LESSONS

1. Does the teaching get worse if there are 10 to 12 people in a group ?

Most of our teachers have a lot of experience and don't have any problem with big groups. However young staff should learn how to manage a big class. That is why they get:

- before season starts several days of schooling
- during the season 2 mornings schooling every week
- technical material like books etc.

So there is less negative effect when they have big classes to teach.

2. What happens if we don't have enough students to make up a group lesson ?

By low season we have sometimes few students. In that case we suggest you to buy and pay the full price for a 5 days group lesson. If 3 people stay in a class we offer 2 hours ski lesson every day, if 2 people stay in a class we offer 1.30 hour ski lesson every day. For all other possibilities check the prices for private lessons.

3. And what about private lessons ?

Due to too less adults interested on group lesson, we have deleted them. However you can read the new regulation on the website section "private lesson".

4. Does the teacher speaks my language ?

As long as posible we try to give children a teacher speaking its own language. But you will easily understand that it is not possible to have teachers speaking french, german, dutch, english, italian or spanish etc. Anyway most of children learn with their eyes and copy skills shown by their teacher. So it is not worse if the teacher doesn't speak well foreign language required in that situation.

SAFETY AND RESPONSABILITY

1. Does the ski school have an insurance covering a student's skiing accident ?

No, we don't have any. We only are insured  in case of one of our teacher is responsible of a serious professional fault.
All clients must be insured against accidents as well as for transportation to a medical center. Swiss ski school St-Luc declines any responsabilities in case of accident.

2. Have I to pay the lessons if my child is getting ill ?

The price for 5 days group lesson (Frs. 180.-) includes 1,5 day free of charge in comparison with the 1 day lesson price (Frs. 48.-) multiplies by 5 half days.
If your child gets ill more than 2 days you have to bring us a valid medical certificate written by one of our medical staff in Vissoie.
Then you will get a voucher for the missing days, valid next time in St-Luc:

3 missing days = 3 group lessons or 1,5 hour private lesson

4 missing days = 4 group lessons or 2,5 hours private lesson

If you want to get your money back we will charge you of 5% by cash payment or 10% by credit card payment for our costs

3. And what about private lesson ?

Only private lesson cancellated at least 12 hours before gives you right to get your money back. Minus a cancellation fee of 10% if payment by credit card and 5% if payment by cash. The teacher himself decides if client arrives too late to give money back or to replace lesson a other day.
